Presenting its innovations on the Nona Source platform, the LVMH group has expanded its range to transform the supply of surplus cow, goat and lamb skins into quality products.
Luxury department store group LVMH has announced a series of key initiatives under Nona Source that will reinforce its commitment to sustainable innovation and excellence in fashion and design:
For lambskin and lamb fur, LVMH also includes a special exclusive collection line of high quality, surplus skins sourced from tanneries and an existing supply of luxury fabrics and yarns.
The Paris showroom will showcase its collections for visitors. From plant-based textiles such as eucalyptus to fish skin, the LVMH material library includes 150 innovative materials, all of which comply with strict environmental standards. This diverse library of materials will appeal to a variety of luxury industries.
For the first time, Nona Source is opening its platform to luxury brands outside the LVMH group to repurpose surplus fabrics from their old collections. This initiative strengthens Nona Source’s position as a circular economy solution for the entire fashion and luxury goods industry. Maisons Chloé and Lanvin are among the first to trust Nona Source to innovate, transfer and serve environmental causes.
Hélène Valade, Environmental Development Director of the LVMH group, said: “Over the last three years, Nona Source has confirmed its role as an accelerator of the circular economy and strengthened its fundamental position in the sector. Our mills have adopted a circular reflex by turning to Nona Source when looking for materials – a perfect example of closed-loop reuse. One of our most important achievements was that even some “rival” brands collaborated with us. Luxury is changing! “
Nona Source has added to its catalog the Weturn initiative’s raw recycled denim MTR, which addresses the ecological challenges of traditional denim production and reduces water and cotton consumption. This addition complements Nona Source’s wide range of solutions for ever “greener” creative circularity.
Romain Brabo, CEO and Co-Founder of Nona Source, added “After two years of project development and three years of launch, Nona Source continues to reinvent the codes of creation to foster innovation in support of creative circularity and the luxury sector. This third anniversary is just the beginning and I believe the best pages are yet to be written.”
