It launched a comprehensive website organized according to ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) criteria and structured to reach a wide audience.
UNIC, the parent association of the Italian tanners’ association, has published its Sustainability report on https://sustainability.unic.it/ , the website created to compile all the information collected on tannery sustainability over the last two decades.
UNIC, which until last year was published in print and PDF format, will continue to be updated every year with the latest data collected from the associated companies with which it collaborates. Currently available in Italian, the website will be available in English from September.
On the website for the leather industry, it will be possible to consult the latest data and historical series on resource consumption, circularity of products and processes, energy efficiency, raw materials, social commitment, health and safety, training. Furthermore, the activities carried out and ongoing are described according to all the other sustainability aspects most relevant to the sector, including terminology such as chemical management (with special attention to chromium VI), LCA/environmental footprint, traceability, deforestation, cultural projects, tanning waste recovery, exotic skins, etc.
