At the 72nd edition of the international footwear and fashion fair AYMOD, Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters’ Association Vocational Technical Anatolian High School (IDMIB-MTAL) stand, Turkish Trade Minister Mr. Ömer Bolat appreciated the students and the school management.
Türkiye is in a good position both in design and production in the field of leather goods with its developing trade volume. For this reason, it is to increase the interest of future generations in leather craft crafts by supporting its activities with the breakthroughs it has made in education.
Zeytinburnu (IDMIB-MTAL), which is the only school in Istanbul where training is given for Leathergoods Design and Production, attracted great attention to its stand at the International Footwear and Fashion Fair AYMOD 72nd Edition held between 19-22 March 2025. Türkiye’s Minister of Trade, Professor Doctor Mr. Ömer Bolat visited and examined the products produced by the students and consulted with the students who performed live performances about their professions.
Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters’ Association (IDMIB) Vocational Technical Anatolian High School (IDMIB-MTAL), which was established within the body of Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters’ Association (IDMIB) and started its activities with the efforts of Mr. Yusuf Gülen, Secretary General of the Leather Goods Manufacturers Association (SSD), has become one of the most important schools in the leather industry and continues to make a difference in the field of leather goods production and design with the leather brand IDMIB-MTAL, (IdmibZEN).
(IDMIB-MTAL) School Principal Ms. Zübeyde ADIM, who is trying to teach this valuable craft by transferring leather to future generations and taking leather goods into the education curriculum: “We organized this event with the aim of providing our young people with the most up-to-date information in the sector, which will shape the future of the leather craft profession. At the AYMOD Shoe Fair, one of the most prestigious fairs of the leather industry, which is very valuable to us, we had the opportunity to introduce our students’ talents and production processes to the entire sector. In addition, the visit of Mr. Ömer BOLAT, our Minister of Trade, to our stand made us very happy.”
A fascinating journey into the heart of Leather
We train a qualified workforce for the leather craft profession and work to teach and keep alive this deep-rooted profession inherited from our ancestors. We aim to carry the power of this profession and traditional production methods into the future.
By exhibiting the handcrafted products produced by valuable teachers and students who have devoted themselves to the leather craft profession, every stage of product production was presented to the visitors at the AYMOD Fair stand.
