Within the scope of sustainability, the project launched by Lineapelle and Hyundai in 2020 and the SRM project presented at the Lineapelle fair in Milan in 2022, Transition to Regenerative Mobility (SRM) in interior design, received the German Red Dot Design Award by Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen.
The Lineapelle + Hyundai Transys project started in 2020 and lasted two years. Rolling up their sleeves to complete, Lineapelle and Hyundai launched a partnership that includes Transys, Dani tanning group, Manifattura di Domoddossola, ATKO Planning, Dual and D-House by Dyloan.
“This collaboration stems from UNIC – Italian Tanneries and Lineapelle’s commitment to sustainability over the years,” said Lineapelle CEO Fulvia Bacchi. “We had the opportunity to team up with Hyundai Transys in Korea to build a visionary futuristic project. “A completely innovative armchair using Italian leathers and leather scraps.” Tanned leather was used in parts of the seat that required more strength. Woven parts are used on the back of the backrest. Leather scraps were finely ground and regenerated into thread form. “It was then combined with threads made from recycled PET bottles, creating a unique upcycled fabric for the floor area.” said.

Fulvia Bacchi (CEO of Lineapelle) explains: “It shows Lineapelle’s avant-garde approach. “An approach that goes beyond the natural commercial dimension of the event, but also opens the door to the development of a new and sustainable dimension of the future,” he said.
“This concept embodies a new vision for the future, Regenerative mobility means not only vehicles with a sustainable impact in terms of fuel consumption, but also the use of materials that respect the environment,” said Kang Hyung, Consul General of the Republic of Korea, at the 2022 Lineapelle fair.
