As Magazine Leather Publishing, we are at AYSAF Fair organizing its 71st edition. Our interview with Mr. Atilla Ülkümen and Mr. Selami Yiğit at ALC Industrial Machinery Stand on the new generation machines in the Footwear Industry.
What are you doing for the shoe machinery sector, let’s make an introduction with you first Mr. Atilla.
I am Atilla Ülkümen, I have been working in the footwear industry for a long time. ALC Industrial Products Incorporated Company started as a project of our effort to make the footwear industry solvent-free, which we established in 2007 together with investors outside the sector. Here, we are introducing and selling the machine that we have prepared especially to eliminate the solvent adhesives used in the shoes.
Our machine is a saving machine for the shoe industry. This is a technology in which Mostra is placed inside the shoe, that is to say the inner lining, in order to put it inside the shoe, we get rid of liquid adhesives, solvent or petroleum products, and completely water-based, even a solid adhesive that can be used even in the food industry, which has no harm, by putting it on a tape and liquefying it, and from that tape we transfer that adhesive to the part to be glued with a transfer machine.
Of course, since 2007, we have been working with Selami Yiğit, who has been working on this second generation machine for fourteen years, both technically and in sales, and we started by obtaining an innovation patent for the second generation, that is, the second stage of this machine.
Now Mr. Selami will tell you the details of this. But the basis of the work is to eliminate the operations that we regulate before sewing by putting these liquid adhesives on top of each other as much as possible in our application areas, both in Mostra and in Saya, both saving, saving raw materials and saving time, in other words, a kind of optimization, but of course it is a clockwork optimization.
Therefore, there are no solvents in the plant. Our main main goal is to eliminate solvents. Our application subject is the parts that will be put on Mostra and Counter. But actually, you can apply this system to all kinds of things to be glued. Because the chemistry of our adhesive is under our control. We have our adhesives produced specially for both Mostra and Saya. Especially by plastering it on paper, we can turn it into a transfer.

Hello Mr. Selami, First of all, we would like to get to know you and can you tell us about your work?
Hello, I am Selami Yiğit, we have been in the shoe industry since 2006. I work as a sales and technical manager in the company established in 2007. First, we were selling imported machines to be applied only in Mostra. Then we decided to produce it in our country and we further developed it and sold our first generation brand that applies to both Mostra and zipper.
Then, we have been producing this machine in Turkiye, which provides one-sided adhesion that we can use on all of them, regardless of the high level, to be used on both Mostra and Saya parts. We no longer import, we produce it ourselves and started to sell it abroad.
Editor: In terms of sustainability, both polyurethane and petroleum are saved on some products, as well as saving an economic cost.
Yes, absolutely, when buyers buy the machine, it both speeds up their work and saves time. Normally, when they drive by hand, there is an incredible waste of time and economic losses. But when they start using the machine, both speed, employee health and cleanliness, that is, extra cleaning is eliminated because they miss it. I think we have made a very efficient machine. Because the feedback is very good. At the moment, we have given our new generation machines to the Grader company and Eren group and there are other companies, of course, they are very satisfied.
At the moment, Turkish companies are buying the machines, but at the same time, I think it is available in our situation at the export point.
Yes, of course, we sent machines to Tunisia and Italy. At the same time, we have registered our brand by patenting this latest product.
