Agostino Apolito, the new general manager of Assomac, the National Association of Italian Manufacturers of Footwear, Leather Products and Tannery Technologies, will take office as of January 2024.
Assomac is a national association that brings together and represents Italian machinery and technology manufacturers for all stages of management and industrial production in the leather, footwear, leather products, fur, automotive, furniture and clothing sectors.
At the Assomac Annual General Assembly held in November at the Leonardo da Vinci Science and Technology Museum in Milan, Italy, Assomac President Maria Vittoria Brustia thanked Roberto Vago, who will end the working relationship, for his valuable contributions and work over the years. Assomac wished Agostino Apolito success in his new position. From January 2024, the international trade fair Simac will take over the management of Tanning Tech.
The key aspects of his role as General Manager of Assomac are, above all, communication with a view to cooperating with leather industry associations; developing sector policies to bring together and enhance the heritage of skill, professionalism and historicity of member companies; To make Made with Italian Technology a guarantee of high quality standards and sustainability in the most tangible and real sense; education through the development of new collaborations with the technical high school and the renewal of the Simac Tanning Technologies exhibition.
Agostino Apolito joined Confindustria Firenze, the main organization of the Florence region manufacturing sector, in 1996 and became Vice President in 2016. He left Confindustria in October 2022 and joined Assomac as a Senior Manager. Long experience in the Confindustria sector allows Apolito to define his commitment to Assomac in line with the strategic indicators of the presidency. This commitment means activities that support the presidency in defining and pursuing strategic objectives, understanding the dynamics of growth and innovation, analyzing skills and technology needs, and supporting projects and the interests of companies associated with development strategies.
