Announced the launch of SIRIALĀ® A NATUR, a new sustainable oil derived from renewable carbon sources, where sustainability meets performance in leather industry technology. Creating new solutions for the bio-based automotive leather industry and beyond.
Pulcra Chemicals, known for its expertise in producing the highest quality leather chemicals from renewable raw materials, is carrying out studies described as bio-revolution in leather processing. Launched Pulcra NaturalisĀ®, its game-changing initiative focusing on the introduction of a new bio-based carbon-containing product portfolio. All products grouped in this new portfolio contain at least 80% renewable carbon. The use of renewable carbon is a global trend in the chemical industry and an important step towards carbon neutrality. By using renewable raw materials, greenhouse gas emissions associated with the production of chemicals are significantly reduced.
Together towards a sustainable future in leather processing
Much of the carbon embedded in industrial or consumer goods, including leather or leather chemicals, eventually reaches the atmosphere as CO2. When a fossil-based raw material is used, the carbon buried deep in the ground is revealed again and therefore has a negative impact on the carbon balance. Renewable raw materials based on plant or animal feedstock have a much better carbon footprint, plants sequester CO2 from the atmosphere and livestock are fed a natural diet. Thus, by switching to renewable raw materials, the entry of new CO2 into the atmosphere is stopped.
Pulcra Chemicals became a textile and fiber business as part of Cognis, the chemicals division separated from Henkel in 1876, and was sold to financial investors in 2001, marking the birth and rise of the Pulcra Group. It provides service with 16 locations worldwide.
