Recycled animal hide
Nowadays, “sustainability” is on everyone’s agenda, and I will touch on the part of leather making, which is the profession of my grandfather.
As a matter of fact, we are in a global climate crisis and diseases, and the life cycle of all living things is to increase naturalness and sustainability.
Agriculture and livestock industry is a whole that provides the food supply of humanity. Alternatives that can replace natural leather in this group are not made for the sake of sustainability, but for the needs of population growth. Alternative leather products will never replace natural leather.
Natural leather is not the problem of the climate crisis, it is already sustainable in itself, it is recycled and presented for consumption rather than throwing it away. Leather farming will continue as long as there is meat and milk consumption in the livestock sector.
Leatherwork has been in our lives since the history of humanity. I think it will be a collective effort of humanity to ensure the balance of sustainability and biodiversity.
