Organized by Turkish Footwear Suppliers Association AYSAD and ARTKİM Fuarcılık, AYSAF fair held its 71st edition with innovations that shape the sector.
Hosting more than 13 thousand visitors from 62 countries on November 13 – 16, AYSAF Fair, the largest footwear sub-industry fair in the region, which meets the needs of the footwear industry, sole systems, leather and synthetic materials, textiles, EVA, metal and plastic accessory products, chemicals, adhesives, machinery, equipment and production technologies, AYSAF Fair, which organized its 71st edition, both reinforced the emphasis on leather and brought together domestic and foreign buyers.
New trends and collaborations in the sector were provided at the fair held at the Istanbul Expo Center in Turkey. Aiming to shape the future of the sector with both local and international exhibitors, the “Award Ceremony for Industry Contributors” organized within the scope of the fair attracted great interest.
The “LEATHER PRODUCT DESIGN SELECTION” organized within the scope of the fair to bring the designers of the future to the sector and to honor them, reinforced the emphasis on leather with the motto“WE DESIGN FOR LEATHER” “TASARLIYORUZ DERİCESİNE”. Students of 9 Eylül University Faculty of Fine Arts, Nişantaşı University and Selçuk University, who had the opportunity to exhibit products in the Leather Design Selection, said “We took part in AYSAF Fair with a leather product design selection. 17 projects were carefully selected from 164 projects for the selection, which was prepared to destroy the perception of copying, representing our departments, and were included in the fair, which is a great chance for us”.
In addition, this year Murat Günü was the special guest of the Homage to the Masters section within the scope of the events. Last year, he gave an interview titled “Leather Badarna on Ship Ropes” to Magazine Leather Publishing. UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Bearer Saraç Murat Günü introduced new innovative products in the leather industry and emphasized the importance of innovative approaches in the sector.
AYSAF, which has introduced many innovations, is also measuring the carbon footprint of the fair for the first time in order to emphasize the importance of sustainability. This practice is important as a step towards increasing the environmental awareness of the sector. This platform, where sustainable production methods are introduced, plays an encouraging role for the participants to adopt environmentally friendly practices.
The next 72nd edition of AYSAF will be held on April 29-May 2, 2025.
